The CAT runs on the same rails as the S7 but takes only 16 minutes from the Airport to the Wien Mitte station, compared to 25 minutes for the S7. A CAT ticket costs between 8 and 12 Euro, while S7 tickets cost 3.60 Euro. Both CAT and S7 run twice an hour during the day.
Passengers can check in up to 75 minutes prior to departure for a number of airlines.
In 2008 nearly 1.1 million passengers were transported.[1]
To operate the CAT an operating company named City Air Terminal Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. owned 50.1% by Vienna Airport and 49.9% by Austrian Federal Railways was established. First registered in 1974, the company became operative in 2002.
